Reason for the Shortage
- Hospira states that ampicillin sulbactam vials are on back order due to manufacturing delay.
- Sandoz cannot provide a reason for the shortage.

Estimated Resupply Dates
- AuroMedics has ampicillin sulbactam 15 gram vials on back order with an estimated release date of mid-to-late May 2013.
- Hospira has all ampicillin sulbactam presentations on back order and the company estimates a release date in 4th quarter of 2013.
- Mylan Institutional has a limited supply of ampicillin sulbactam 1.5 gram vials and the product has short expiration dating, October 2013.
- Sandoz has ampicillin sulbactam 3 gram and 15 gram vials temporarily unavailable.
