Reason for the Shortage
- Cadista states the shortage is due to a raw materials shortage.
- Perrigo, Roxane, Qualitest, and Watson could not provide a reason for the shortage.
- West-Ward has temporarily suspended manufacturing of oral solid pharmaceutical products.

Estimated Resupply Dates
- Cadista has prednisone tablets on back order and cannot estimate a release date.
- Perrigo has prednisone 5 mg and 10 mg tablets on back order and the company estimates a release date in July 2013 for the 5 mg tablets and August 2013 for the 10 mg tablets.
- Roxane has prednisone 10 mg and 20 mg in 100 count and 500 count on intermittent back order and the company is releasing product as it becomes available.
- Watson has prednisone 20 mg 500 count on back order and the company cannot estimate a release date. All other presentations are being allocated.
- West-Ward has prednisone 5 mg tablets 1000 count and 20 mg 100 count on allocation. All other presentations are on back order with an estimated release date of 4th quarter 2013.
