Paregoric liquid, Hi-Tech
Reason for the Shortage
- Hi-Tech temporarily suspended manufacturing paregoric liquid in June 2010 due to manufacturing issues. Paregoric is also an unapproved drug.
- Hi-Tech discontinued paregoric liquid in January, 2012, but started manufacturing again in August, 2012.
- Actavis discontinued paregoric liquid in January, 2009.
- Paregoric liquid is not commercially available from any manufacturer, but may be available from certain compounding pharmacies.
