Banner ads must conform to specifications outlined herein. Elements not meeting specifications will be returned for revision, which may delay the launch date.
Insertion Order and Creative Deadlines
All ad banners must be submitted to ASHP five (5) business days prior to the launch date. Advertisers should also allow 5 business days for ASHP to change, add or update existing material.
Cost/Rates
The terms of payment for all online advertising is Net 30 Days.

Placement
The pages within the website are selected for ad placement based on site traffic and user visibility, provided that the pages are deemed to be appropriate for advertising by ASHP’s Web Advisory Group, which comprises staff from key areas within ASHP. As part of the ACPE accreditation requirements, ASHP is not allowed to place advertising on pages where Continuing Education is offered.
Premium Run of Site Banner Ads – The run of site (ROS) premium package places the Bottom Leaderboard Banner (see technical specifications below) in the footer of pages throughout the ASHP.org web site, including the home page. This option allows general offers to reach the most potential viewers.
Standard Banner Ads – The standard Square Banner (see technical specifications below) is displayed on the right-hand column of the some of the most frequently visited pages on the site.

Design, Animation & Audio
- Ads may not employ rapid flashing animation of any graphic, copy, or background element(s).
- Banners should be encased in a border and distinct from the content. If borderless, a banner must contain the advertiser's name to signify that it is an ad creative banner, not content.
- Banners must have an end-frame and not loop continuously.
The animation loop is required to stop at the last frame (industry studies show that animation longer than seven seconds negatively impacts the performance of the banner).
- No audio or video is currently allowed.
- Animated .gif files should contain no more than four panels.
- Include with the submission up to 50 characters (including spaces) for alternative text – the wording that appears if the user has turned off banner ad or graphics viewing on their browser. If no alternative text is submitted, the company name will be used.
URL Specs
- The target URL or click-through URL may not exceed 250 characters.
- The URL provided must be viewable in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x, 7.x and Firefox 1.x and 2.x.
- Capital or lowercase letters (A through Z or a through z), Numbers, 0 through 9, Special characters / ~ _ ? - # = | ; $ @ & + % ! * " ' ( ). No commas are allowed.
