ASHP believes that the mission of pharmacists is to help people make the best use of medications. The mission of ASHP is to advance and support the professional practice of pharmacists in hospitals and health systems and serve as their collective voice on issues related to medication use and public health.
ASHP’s Vision for Pharmacy Practice in Hospitals and Health Systems envisions pharmacists in hospitals and health systems in roles that (1) enhance patient health through better medication use, (2) develop integrated practice that expands pharmacists’ patient-care responsibilities, and (3) enhance the public image of pharmacists.
