Indiana Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ISHP)
The Indiana Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ISHP), an Academy of the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance, hosted its Annual Networking Forum, “Issues & Trends in Health-System Pharmacy”, recently in Indianapolis, Indiana. This Networking Forum was created to give health-system practitioners an opportunity to discuss cutting-edge issues.
Educational presentations included: Inpatient Diabetes Management, ER Medication Review, Update on USP 797 New Standards, Inpatient Insulin Therapy/Drips, Review of Home Subcutaneous Insulin Pumps, Quality Improvement in Health-Systems, and Review of Parkinson’s Disease.
The Indiana Pharmacists Alliance (IPA) secured over $12,000 in educational grants to make this educational program possible. IPA members, including all ISHP members, attended the full day program at no cost and non-members paid a reasonable fee. Guest presenters included Sam Flanders, MD, Senior Vice President for Medical Quality at Clarian Health Partners in Indianapolis; Joanne Wojcieszek, MD, Indiana University School of Medicine; and David F. Chen, RPh, MBA, ASHP Director for the Section of Home, Ambulatory, and Chronic Care Practitioners.
