ASHP & Federal Agencies

After a bill is passed, the federal administrative agencies take on responsibility for implementing the new law.  Agencies seek comments from interested parties by publishing notices in the Federal Register. The agency reviews the comments it receives and may make changes to its proposed rule based on the feedback.  ASHP comments on proposed regulations issued by:

• Department of Health and Human Services 
• Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
• Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
• Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
• National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
