ASHP Partner Support Activities

What States can Expect of ASHP

  • Make available resources and toolkits that support the advocacy initiative.
  • Make available education such as Webinars or other products/programs that support the awareness and education of affiliate members on this issue.
  • Provide access to ASHP government affairs and other staff for consultation, advice, information, and background papers.
  • Provide access to an ASHP developed electronic survey for pharmacy directors that could be launched jointly by the affiliate and ASHP to better understand roles of technicians, requirements for training, plans for the future, etc. 
  • Provide access to an ASHP developed electronic survey for pharmacy technicians in their state, launched jointly by the affiliate and ASHP to better understand their own level of training and education, years in their position, anticipated longevity in a technician position, etc. 
  • Provide access to model legislative and regulatory language specific to pharmacy technicians.
  • Provide experts as speakers on this topic at no charge to its affiliates.  In the event that it is feasible to coordinate the speaker assignment as the scheduled ASHP staff liaison or representative, these travel expenses may also sometimes be waived.
  • Communicate progress of state partnerships to the entire ASHP membership through ASHP’s news and information vehicles.
  • Support affiliate membership recruitment programs to recruit and retain educated, trained, certified, and registered pharmacy technicians to ASHP’s state affiliates.
