ASHP is seeking opportunities to partner with and support individual state affiliates with a mutual goal of advocating for state laws supporting training and certification requirements for pharmacy technicians.
The initiative is structured to be customized to the unique environment of each state, with consideration for existing regulations, buy-in and support from members, and other factors. A core measure of success will include establishing legal and regulatory requirements for standardized education and training of technicians, but other state efforts including requirement of pharmacy technician certification, registration and overall expansion of technician roles will be imbedded within the program framework.
Affiliates are asked to formally partner with ASHP for this initiative. Signing on in this manner will demonstrate that the affiliate’s Board of Directors has agreed with this initiative as a worthy effort and that the organization is committed to working towards this common goal.
