Practice Site:
The Ohio State University Medical Center
Position / Title:
PGY1/PGY2 Combined Masters in Health-System Pharmacy Administration Resident (Year 2)
Reasons for selecting this career path:
Throughout pharmacy school I had the opportunity to experience many pharmacy careers. I had interned at small and large chain retail pharmacies, in the pharmaceutical industry, and in several health-systems. Starting my rotational year I was planning on becoming a critical care specialist. However, once on rotations my interests shifted, and I decided the administrative career path was a better fit. I still maintain a strong practice interest in critical care, yet am confident I made the right decision by pursuing post-graduate administrative training. I am passionate about the pharmacy profession and enjoy empowering my colleagues by developing and providing the resources needed to improve the lives of our patients.
Interest in the NPF Executive Committee:
My interest in ASHP started with a student appointment to the Council on Pharmacy Practice. I then was selected to be a member of the Student Forum Executive Committee (SFEC). Following my service to the SFEC, I became a member of the Professional Practice Advisory Group for the New Practitioners Forum. I have had the opportunity to interact with great people and participate in projects that help the newly practicing members of ASHP. My goal has been to continue my service and was fortunate to be appointed to the New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee (NPFEC) as a Member. As a member of the NPFEC I am able to work collaboratively with the great leaders of pharmacy to help move the profession forward, while always keeping the patient first.
