Charge
- Make the national medication safety initiatives more useful for inpatient care practitioners.
- Help translate the national initiatives into direct patient care practice for daily use.
- Encourage inpatient care practitioners to take leadership in the medication safety process.
- Organize networking sessions in the areas of IDS, medication safety, OR/Anesthesiology at the Summer Meeting or Midyear Clinical Meeting.
- Assess current ASHP programs, tools, and resources related to medication safety.
- Identify and develop future programs/resources that enhance the ability of members to meet patient needs.
- Identify unique needs of pharmacists with practice foci on medication safety, investigational drug services, OR/Anesthesiology and develop strategies to meet these needs.
- Identify and develop future program resources, in collaboration with the SICP Educational Steering Committee, in the area of investigational drugs and OR/Anesthesiology with an emphasis on the patient/medication safety perspective.
- Identify and develop future programs/resources for practitioners in the area of investigational drugs and OR/Anesthesiology with an emphasis on the patient/medication safety perspective.
