SAG Charges
- Develop guidance for hospital pharmacists on the use of electronic prescribing for ambulatory clinics, discharged in-patients, and emergency room patients.
- Determine which organizations that ASHP should partner to ensure that appropriate needs of hospital pharmacy are met with the adoption of technology:
- Continue to partner with the Section of Home, Ambulatory, and Chronic Care Practitioners to ensure that the needs of this group of pharmacists are met with automation and technology.
- Support the adoption and implementation of PHRs and make it the portal for medication management and health for patients.
- MTM support system needs assessment to include use of EHR/PHR
- Outpatient information system selection support tools (mostly for the independent pharmacies)

- Develop guidance for ASHP members on the requirements for Drug-Drug Interaction screening in in-patient and out-patient EHR systems – In Processs by SAG.
- Develop recommendations for the “electronic” reconciliation of medications.
