Reason for the Shortage
Bedford states etomidate injection is in short supply due to increased demand for product.
Estimated Resupply Dates
- Bedford cannot provide an estimated resupply date for their etomidate products.
- Hospira has available Amidate 10 mL ampules (NDC 00409-8062-01), 10 mL vials (NDC 00409-6695-01), 20 mL ampules (NDC 00409-8061-01), 20 mL vials (NDC 00409-6695-02) and 20 mL Lifeshield systems (NDC 00409-8060-29) in limited supply.
Safety
Clinicians must take extra care to ensure safe use of etomidate when using different presentations than those normally stocked.
