Reason for the Shortage

• Humco and Paddock have their ipecac syrup on back order due to a global raw material shortage.
• Ipecac syrup is no longer recommended for routine management of outpatient ingestions of medications or other chemicals. Guidelines from the American Association of Poison Control Centers and the American Academy of Pediatrics do not recommend routine stocking of ipecac in households with small children.

Estimated Resupply Dates

• Humco has ipecac syrup on back order and the company cannot estimate a release date.
• Paddock has ipecac syrup on back order and the company cannot estimate a release date.
