Reason for the Shortage
- Mallinckrodt states the shortage is due to increased demand for the product.
- Ranbaxy discontinued all presentations of hydrocodone/ acetaminophen tablets in February, 2009.
- Qualitest states the shortage was due to increased demand for the product.
- Amneal Pharmaceuticals state the shortage was due to supply and demand.
Estimated Resupply Dates
- Mallinckrodt has available hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5/500 mg tablets in 100 count (NDC 00406-0357-01) and 100 unit dose count (NDC 00406-0357-62) sizes. Hydrocodone/ acetaminophen 5/500 mg in 500 count and 5/325 mg tablets in 100 count and 100 unit dose count sizes are on intermittent back order and are releasing supplies as they become available.
- Amneal Pharmaceuticals has all presentations available including hydrocodone/ acetaminophen 5/500 mg tablets in 100 count bottles (NDC 53746-0111-01) and 500 count bottles (NDC 53746-0111-05) and hydrocodone/ acetaminophen 5/325 mg tablets (NDC 53746-0109-01) in 100 count bottles.
- Watson has all presentations of hydrocodone/ acetaminophen 5/500 mg available including the 100 count bottles (NDC 00591-0349-01) and 500 count bottles (NDC 00591-0349-05). Hydrocodone/ acetaminophen 5/325 mg tablets in 100 count bottles (NDC 00591-3202-01) are also available.
- Qualitest has available all presentations of hydrocodone/ acetaminophen including 5/500 mg tablets in 30 count (NDC 00603-3881-16), 50 count (NDC 00603-3881-19), 60 count (NDC 00603-3881-20), 90 count (NDC 00603-3881-02), 100 count (NDC 00603-3881-21), 120 count (NDC 00603-3881-22), 500 count (NDC 00603-3881-28), and 1000 count (NDC 00603-3881-32) sizes. Norco 5/325 mg tablets in 100 count bottles (NDC 00603-3890-21) are also available.
- Major Pharmaceuticals has available hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5/500 mg tablets in 100 count bottles (NDC 00904-3440-61).
- UDL Laboratories has hydrocodone/ acetaminophen 5/325 mg in packages of 100 (NDC 51079-0777-21) available. Hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5/500 mg tablets in packages of 90 (NDC 51079-0780-99) are also available.
- Abbott has Vicodin 5/500 mg available in all presentations including the 100 count (NDC 00074-1949-14), 100 count unit dose (NDC 00074-1949-12), and 500 count (NDC 00074-1949-54) sizes.
- UCB Pharma has Lortab 5/500 mg available in all presentations including the 100 count (NDC 50474-0902-01) and 500 count (NDC 50474-0920-50) sizes.
