Reason for the Shortage
- Manufacturers are stating there is a raw material shortage.
- Manufacturers located in Beijing, China were shut down during the summer Olympics and are now attempting to resupply product and falling short of demand.
- Consolidated Midlands has discontinued all of their ferrous sulfate presentations.
- Amneal has discontinued their ferrous sulfate product.

- Major has available all presentations including the ferrous sulfate 325 mg red tablets in the 100 count (NDC 00904-7590-60) and 1000 count (NDC 00904-7590-80) sizes, the 325 mg red unit-dose tablets in 100 count (NDC 00904-7590-82) and 325 mg green unit-dose tablets in 100 count (NDC 00904-7591-61), and the 325 mg green tablets in 1000 count size (NDC 00904-7591-80).
