Products Affected - Description

Reason for the Shortage

• Manufacturers are stating there is a raw material shortage.
• Manufacturers located in Beijing, China were shut down during the summer Olympics and are now attempting to resupply product and falling short of demand.
• Consolidated Midlands has discontinued all of their ferrous sulfate presentations.
• Amneal has discontinued their ferrous sulfate product.

• URL has all presentations available including ferrous sulfate 325 mg red tablets in the 100 count size (NDC 00677-0071-01) and the 1000 count size (NDC 00677-0071-10) and the ferrous sulfate 325 mg green tablets in the 100 count size (NDC 00677-0070-01) and the 1000 count size (NDC 0067-0070-10).
• Major has available all presentations including the ferrous sulfate 325 mg red tablets in the 100 count (NDC 00904-7590-60) and 1000 count (NDC 00904-7590-80) sizes, the 325 mg red unit-dose tablets in 100 count (NDC 00904-7590-82) and 325 mg green unit-dose tablets in 100 count (NDC 00904-7591-61), and the 325 mg green tablets in 1000 count size (NDC 00904-7591-80).
• Major also has available both FeroSul presentations including the 325 mg tablets in 100 count (NDC 00904-7591-60) and the 325 mg green unit-dose tablets in 100 count (NDC 00904-7591-82).
• Paddock has available their ferrous sulfate 324 mg enteric coated tablets in 100 count (NDC 00574-0608-01), 324 mg unit-dose enteric coated tablets (NDC 00574-0608-11), and 324 mg enteric coated tablets in the 1000 count size (NDC 00574-0608-10)
• Qualitest has available their ferrous sulfate 325 mg unit-dose tablets in the 100 count size (NDC 00603-0179-29) and 325 mg tablets in the 1000 count size (NDC 00603-0179-32)
• Upsher-Smith has available their ferrous sulfate 325 mg unit-dose tablets (NDC 00245-0108-01), 325 mg tablets in the 100 count size (NDC 00245-0108-11), 325 mg tablets in the 1000 count size (NDC 00245-0108-10), and Feratab 300 mg unit-dose tablets in the 100 count size (NDC 00245-0053-01).
• Teva has available their ferrous sulfate 325 mg red tablets in 100 count (NDC 00182-4029-01), and 325 mg green tablets in 100 count (NDC 00182-4028-01) and 1000 count (NDC 00182-4028-10). The 325 mg red enteric coated tablets in 100 count are on back order with an estimated release date of late-November, 2009.
• GeriCare has available their ferrous sulfate 325 mg tablets in the 100 count size (NDC 57896-0703-01) and 1000 count size (NDC 57896-0703-10).
