Products Affected - Description

Reason for the Shortage

• Morphine sulfate extended-release oral products are FDA approved.
• Mallinckrodt, Endo, and Xanodyne could not provide a reason for the shortage.

Estimated Resupply Dates

• Watson has available all of their morphine extended-release oral tablets in 100 count sizes including 15 mg tablets (NDC 00591-3511-01), 30 mg tablets (NDC 00591-3512-01), 60 mg tablets (NDC 00591-3513-01), 100 mg tablets (NDC 00591-3514-01), and 200 mg tablets (NDC 00591-3515-01).
• Alpharma has available all Kadian extended-release oral capsules in 100 count sizes including 10 mg capsules (NDC 63857-0410-11), 20 mg capsules (NDC 63857-0322-11), 30 mg capsules (NDC 63857-0325-11), 50 mg capsules (NDC 63857-0323-11), 60 mg capsules (NDC 63857-0326-11), 80 mg capsules (NDC 63857-0412-11), 100 mg capsules (NDC 63857-0324-11), and 200 mg capsules (NDC 63857-0377-11).
• King has available all Avinza extended-release oral capsules in 100 count sizes including 30 mg capsules (NDC 60793-0605-01), 60 mg capsules (NDC 60793-0606-01), 90 mg capsules (NDC 60793-0607-01), and 120 mg capsules (NDC 60793-0608-01).
• Purdue has available all MS Contin extended-release tablets including 15 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 59011-0260-10) and 500 count (NDC 59011-0260-05), 30 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 59011-0261-25) and 500 count (NDC 59011-0261-05), 60 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 59011-0262-10) and 500 count (NDC 59011-0262-05), 100 mg 100 count (NDC 59011-0263-10) and 500 count (NDC 59011-0263-05) and 200 mg 100 count (NDC 59011-0264-10).
• Xanodyne has available all of their Oramorph SR extended-release oral products including 15 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 66479-0540-10) and 100 count unit dose (NDC 66979-0540-25), 30 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 66479-0541-10) and 100 count unit dose (NDC 66479-0541-25), 60 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 66479-0542-10) and 25 count unit dose (NDC 66479-0542-25), and 100 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 66479-0543-10) and 25 count unit dose (NDC 66979-0543-25).
• Endo has all of their morphine extended-release oral products available including 15 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 60951-0652-70), 30 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 60951-0653-70), 60 mg tablets, 100 count (NDC 60951-0655-70), 100 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 60951-0658-70), and 200 mg 100 count (NDC 60951-0659-70).
• Mallinckrodt has available 15 mg tablets 100 count unit dose (NDC 00406-8315-62), 15 mg tablets, 100 count  (NDC 00406-8315-01), 30 mg tablets, 100 count unit dose (NDC 00406-8330-62), 30 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 00406-8330-01), 60 mg tablets 100 count unit dose (NDC 00406-8380-62), 60 mg 100 count (NDC 00406-8380-01), 100 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 00406-8390-01), 100 mg tablets 100 count unit dose (NDC 00406-8390-62), and 200 mg tablets 100 count (NDC 00406-8320-01) products.
