Reason for the Shortage
Roche states that Roferon-A was discontinued October, 2007 due to business reasons. There are no supplies of the 3 million unit prefilled syringes. Distribution of the 6 million unit and 9 million unit prefilled syringes will continue until December 31, 2007. There are currently no other suppliers of interferon alfa-2a, recombinant.
Estimated Resupply Dates
- Interferon alfa-2a, recombinant is discontinued.
- Interferon alfa-2b, recombinant, injection (Intron A, Schering) is not affected by this shortage.
