Reason for the Shortage

Pfizer states that Exubera was discontinued October, 2007 due to business reasons. Product will remain available for the next 3 months so that patients may transition to other hypoglycemic agents. There are currently no other suppliers of inhaled human insulin.

Inhaled human insulin is discontinued.
