Reason for the Shortage

Bayer states that Viadur was discontinued December 2007 for business reasons. The company will continue to fill orders until remaining supplies are depleted, which is expected to occur by April 2008. There are currently no other suppliers of leuprolide acetate implant.

• Leuprolide acetate implant is discontinued.
• Other leuprolide acetate products (injection, microspheres for injection) are not affected by this discontinuation.
