Reason for the Shortage
- Hospira could not provide a reason for the shortage.
- Apotex discontinued their 4 mL vials in February, 2010. The company could not provide a reason for the discontinuation.
Estimated Resupply Dates
- Akorn has labetalol injection available in 20 mL (NDC 17478-0420-20) and 40 mL (NDC 17478-0420-40) vials.
- Bedford has labetalol injection available in 20 mL (NDC 55390-0130-20) and 40 mL (NDC 55390-0130-40) vials.
- Hospira has labetalol injection available in 40 mL vial (NDC 00409-2267-54). The 4 mL Carpuject syringes and 20 mL vials are on back order with an estimated release date of mid- to late-August, 2010.
- Sagent has labetalol injection available in 20 mL (NDC 25021-0300-20) and 40 mL (NDC 25021-0300-40) vials.
