Ethionamide Tablets

Wyeth has discontinued ethionamide sugar-coated tablets (Trecator-SC, NDC 00008-4130-01). The product has been reformulated as a film-coated tablet, which is now available (Trecator, NDC 00008-4117-01). The new formulation has greater bioavailability, resulting in higher concentrations of ethionamide. Monitor patients carefully when switching to the new formulation, and re-titrate doses.
