Akorn would not provide a reason for the shortage.
Estimated Resupply Dates
Akorn Pharmaceuticals has alfentanil (Alfenta) 2 mL on backorder and cannot estimate a release date. Product with an expiration date of September 2006 is available in the 2 mL size. The 10 mL and 20 mL presentations are available. Hospira has the 2 mL and 5 mL ampuls available.
