50 mg vial, single package (NDC 10019-0921-02) - discontinued
Reason for the Shortage
- Baxter has discontinued their doxorubicin lyophilized powder products; the company would not provide a reason for the discontinuation.
- Bedford is the sole supplier of doxorubicin lyophilized powder and states the shortage was due to increased demand for product.
Estimated Resupply Dates
- Bedford has available doxorubicin lyophilized powder in Novaplus 10 mg vials (NDC 55390-0241-10) and Novaplus 50 mg vials (NDC 55390-0243-01). Adriamycin lyophilized powder in 10 mg vials (NDC 55390-0231-01), 20 mg vials (NDC 55390-0232-10), and 50 mg vials (NDC 55390-0233-01) are available.
- Bedford has doxorubicin solution for injection available in Novaplus 5 mL vials (NDC 55390-0245-10), Novaplus 10 mL vials (NDC 55390-0246-10), Novaplus 25 mL vials (NDC 55390-0247-01), and Novaplus 100 mL multi-dose vials (NDC 55390-0248-01). Adriamycin solution for injection in 5 mL vials (NDC 55390-0235-10), 10 mL vials (NDC 55390-0236-10), 25 mL vials (NDC 55390-0237-01), and 100 mL multi-dose vials (NDC 55390-0238-01) is also available.
- APP has doxorubicin solution for injection available in all presentations including a 5 mL vial (NDC 63323-0883-05), 10 mL vial (NDC 63323-0883-10), 25 mL vial (NDC 63323-0883-30), and 100 mL multi-dose vial (NDC 63323-0101-61).
- Teva has doxorubicin solution for injection available in a 5 mL vial (NDC 00703-5043-03), 25 mL vial (NDC 00703-5046-01), and 100 mL vial (NDC 00703-5040-01).
