Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is an important concept in today’s healthcare. EBP combines clinical expertise and decision-making with thorough unbiased literature research and evaluation. Although most publications on the topic deal with evidence based medicine (EBM), this concept can be applied to any practice setting. Pharmacy as a healthcare profession is evolving clinically, thus evidence based practice is essential in providing pharmaceutical care. Application of evidence ensures optimal health outcomes for every patient and promotes adaptation of practice standards. ASHP recognizes significance of evidence based approach in pharmacy and supports this concept by developing tools that would enhance practitioners’ knowledge and skills.
