National Hospital & Health-System Pharmacy Week: October 18-24, 2009

As soon as possible select some dates during the observance and reserve locations on your institution’s event calendar. 

MAY

• Form an event-planning committee and begin brainstorming ideas. Invite a representative from your hospital’s public relations department to join the committee.

JUNE

• ASHP planning guide & catalog posted online.

JULY

• Finalize activity plans
• Invite speakers and guests (Be sure to extend an invitation to your hospital administrator)
• Order promotional materials

AUGUST

• Work with your health-system's public relations department to prepare media outreach tools.

SEPTEMBER

• Confirm speakers/guests
• Solicit volunteers
• Send media kits to local newspapers (include a media advisory & sample promotional item)
• Submit article to hospital newsletter

OCTOBER

• Order last minute items by October 1.
• Send invitations to hospital staff
• Celebrate National Hospital & Health-System Pharmacy Week!

NOVEMBER

• Meet with planning committee to follow-up
• Participate in ASHP evaluation
• Send ASHP pictures and recap of event
