National Poison Prevention Week: March 14-20, 2010
Medications are often implicated in accidental poisonings. National Poison Prevention Week is an ideal opportunity to educate the public about the precautions they should take when storing their medications at home, ways to avoid medication errors while in the hospital, and what to do if they experience an adverse drug event. The observance can also help raise public awareness about the valuable role that pharmacists play in ensuring medication safety.
