"Ask for Me” Public Service Announcement Campaign
ASHP Launches New PSA Campaign
Designed to Educate Consumers on Pharmacist's Patient-Care Role
ASHP launched the “Ask for Me” Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign to help consumers understand how pharmacists in hospitals and health systems help patients use their medications safely and effectively. The campaign, which features actual ASHP members, includes PSAs for television and radio, as well as magazines and newspapers. The TV PSA is available in both English and Spanish.
The TV and radio PSAs were distributed to broadcast stations and satellite networks across the country in May. The print PSAs, which highlight the work of pharmacists in both hospitals and ambulatory care settings, will be sent to magazines and newspapers shortly.
For information on how you can help deploy these PSAs in your local area, contact ASHP public relations at publicinfo@ashp.org or 301-664-8799.
Special thanks to the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston; Saint Lukes Hospital, Kansas City; and the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Tampa, Florida, for allowing ASHP to film and take still photographs onsite with their pharmacy staffs for these PSAs.
