Webinar Overview
Learn about how one health system has integrated pharmacists into hospital performance improvement activities for improving core measure performance. Quality improvement has become part of every pharmacist’s role at Norman Regional Health System. Learn about the planning, implementation, and follow up that has transformed this health system into a model of performance improvement. Dr. Smith will share tips and lessons learned.

Darin Smith, Pharm.D., BCPS currently serves as Director of Pharmacy Services and Performance Improvement for Norman Regional Health System where he has been employed since 1994. He also serves as Adjunct Clinical Professor for Oklahoma University College of Pharmacy (OUCOP).
Dr. Smith is active with the Oklahoma Society of Health-System Pharmacists (OSHP), serving as President, and state delegate to the ASHP House of Delegates for multiple terms. He was awarded the Oklahoma Health-System Pharmacists of the Year and the Quality Professional Award by the Oklahoma Hospital Association for his accomplishments and contributions in the area of quality improvement. Dr. Smith has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality, Oklahoma’s Quality Improvement Organization. He received his degrees from OUCOP and completed a Specialty Residency in Pharmacokinetics, also through the OUCOP.

This is a live web-based activity consisting of audio, presentation slides, and an activity evaluation tool. This activity is provided free of charge.

This symposium will be beneficial for health-system pharmacists with an administrative, clinical, or distributive practice and all pharmacists with an interest in quality improvement.
