General Education Information

Educational Objectives

The 2009 ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting educational programs are developed to maintain and enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of pharmacists and associated personnel in healthcare systems through skill building and active participation in sessions on important issues relevant to contemporary practice.  The educational goal of this meeting is to provide information and instruction on a variety of topics to enable pharmacy practitioners to provide quality patient care.

Target Audience

Activities are planned to meet the needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in a variety of healthcare systems including large and small hospitals, managed care facilities, inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, and homecare settings, as well as in academia and the pharmaceutical industry.

Audio-Synched Presentations

While ASHP educational planners have worked hard to minimize conflicting sessions, some overlap is inevitable.  If you just can’t fit all the sessions you want to see into your schedule, relax—the full meeting registration fee includes access to all available audio-synched educational session presentations.  Download the sessions you’ve missed and “attend” at your leisure. Note: CE is not available with downloads.

Pre-Meeting Workshops

You must be a full Midyear Clinical Meeting registrant and pay a separate fee to attend pre-meeting workshops.  The registration fees for full-day workshops include refreshments during breaks; however, lunch is on your own.

ASHP reserves the right to cancel a pre-meeting workshop for reasons that make it impractical or unreasonable to conduct.  If that occurs, each registrant will be issued a full refund.

Enrollment for these sessions is limited and they fill up quickly.  There is no onsite registration available for workshops, so register soon.  Registration must be received on or before November 23.
