Current Topics in International Hospital Pharmacy
Featuring the Donald E. Francke Medal Lecture
Monday, December 6
2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
The four talks in this educational session will cover the historical and cultural factors that shaped pharmacy and medicine in many of the Asia-Pacific countries, examples of efforts to build the pharmacy infrastructure for public health programs in the developing world, strategic planning for hospital pharmacy in an Arab country of the Middle East, and collaboration between an academic medical center in the U.S. and hospitals abroad. The session will conclude with the Donald E. Francke Medal Lecture.
Donald E. Francke Medalist, Agathe Wehrli, B.Pharm., DSc (hon), retired from the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, will present a lecture titled, "Expanding Knowledge and Opportunity in Pharmacy". The Donald E. Francke Medal was established to honor individuals who have made significant international contributions to hospital pharmacy.
All attendees of this session are invited to join Dr. Wehrli after her lecture to offer congratulations at a special reception for International Registrants. The reception is an opportunity to network with your friends/colleagues from around the world. Light refreshments will be served.
