Education

1. Do I need to be registered for the NRPC to attend an RLS Workshop?
Yes – and for the workshops, pre-registration is required by August 1, 2010.  The workshop fee is $250; it includes materials, continental breakfast, lunch, and refreshment breaks.

2. If I am interested in attending a Residency Learning System Workshop, which one should I attend?
Even though all the RLS workshops share similarities, content is slightly different for each group.  If you are

  • a new program just starting out, you should attend the NEW RLS workshop
  • a PGY2 residency program director (whether new or have been in your position for a while) you should attend the PGY2 RLS session
  • in a program that has been around for awhile, the PGY1 RLS existing is probably right for you.
  • in a community pharmacy residency you should sign up for the CP-RLS session.

If one of the sessions is full, you can attend a different session if there is still space available; just be aware that the practice examples may be slightly less relevant to your practice area.

3. Is attendance limited in the RLS sessions?
Yes.  Limiting the number of participants keeps the groups more interactive, which is essential to the success of these workshops.

  1. New Residency Program/Postgraduate Year 1 is limited to 60 registrants
  2. Existing Residency Programs/Postgraduate Year 1 is limited to 70 registrants
  3. Postgraduate Year 2 (New and Existing)is limited to 50 registrants
  4. Community Pharmacy Residencies (CPRLS) is limited to 25 registrants

4. Are there ACPE credits for the workshops and for the NRPC sessions?
YES. Participation in an RLS Workshop earns 8 Contact Hours of CE credit; participation in the NRPC sessions can earn up to 9.5 Contact Hours of CE credit.
