The 340B program was created by the enactment of Public Law 102-585, of the Veterans Health Care Act of 1992, which is codified as Section 340B of the Public Health Service Act. The program is administered by the federal Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA), which falls under the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The program was established to help specific safety-net programs reduce their pharmaceutical expenses. The program enables participants to purchase medications at significantly discounted prices. Experts from the private and public sector will engage attendees to inspire and influence integrity in the 340B Drug Pricing Program. - Discuss the impact of 340B policy guidance on the safety net.
- Explain various pharmacy operation models that the safety net applies to their populations.
