BETHESDA, MD 27 October 2009—Qualitest Pharmaceuticals Inc. is recalling all Accusure insulin syringes because some may have a needle that separates from the syringe, according to an announcement circulated today by FDA.
Distribution of the syringes to pharmacies, the announcement states, occured from January 2002 to October 2009.
This is the third time the company has recalled Accusure insulin syringes this year.
In August, the company recalled two lots because the needles could break away during use. According to FDA's enforcement report for October 21, the syringes were manufactured by Hosuk Co. Ltd. of South Korea. The April recall, involving syringes manufactured by Feel Tech of South Korea, resulted from needles separating from the syringes.
