McNeil Recalls Five Lots of Tylenol Arthritis Pain

BETHESDA, MD 10 November 2009—
McNeil Consumer Healthcare on November 6 announced a recall of Tylenol Arthritis Pain caplets in lots 08BMC013, 08BMC020, 09BMC034, 09CMC036, and 09CMC040 after detecting an "uncharacteristic" smell or taste.
The company said a small number of consumers reported having nausea after exposure to caplets in those lots.
Tylenol Arthritis Pain is an extended-release acetaminophen product. Each caplet contains a total of 650 mg of acetaminophen.
The five lots in the recall, the company said, are 100-count bottles with an easy-to-open red lid.
Consumers who bought any of the product included in the recall should contact the company at 888-222-6036 for instructions on obtaining a refund or replacement, returning the caplets, or disposing of them.
