ASHP, Pharmacy Groups Call for Pharmacist Input on Health Care Reform
4/6/2009
ASHP was part of a group of 12 national pharmacy organizations that this week called on the Obama Administration to include pharmacists in discussions on health care reform.
In a letter to Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform, the coalition expressed disappointment that the profession was not represented at the recent White House Forum on Health Care Reform.
The group stressed that pharmacists play a critical role in providing accessible, affordable, and quality care for patients, and noted that broadening access to pharmacists’ patient-care services has the potential to improve the health of hundreds of thousands of patients.
