Hotel Accommodations

ASHP has made arrangements to have large numbers of rooms available – at special rates – at eleven hotels for Midyear attendees and exhibitors, providing a wide selection for any budget! This years Midyear will be held in the Venetian Resort & Sands Expo Center conveniently located on the Las Vegas strip and close to all major hotels. Shuttle bus service will be provided from all official hotels to the Sands Expo Center starting on Sunday, December 2. Travel to the City

McCarran International Airport is the central airport serving the Las Vegas Area. It serves over 40 air carriers, offers over 1,100 flights arriving and departing daily, and offers direct flights to more than 125 U.S. cities. Flight status and contact information for individual air carriers can be found on the McCarran Airport's website.

McCarran is a short drive (just one mile) from the Las Vegas Strip. Taxicabs are available and airport personnel are available on the taxi curb to assist passengers. Taxis will not accept credit card payments. There is a $1.20 charge on all fares originating at the airport. The maximum number of passengers allowed in any taxi is five (5), including infants and children. The most economical way to get to your hotel is an airport shuttle. The shuttles are located just outside the terminal in the same area as the taxis. Shuttle service to the Strip or downtown costs less than $10 and runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can’t come to Vegas without seeing a show. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy a concert by Celine Dion, Barry Manilow, or Tony Braxton. Be part of the audience of one of the four Cirque du Soleil performances currently in production. Catch a Broadway show such as “MAMMA MIA” or “Phantom –The Las Vegas Spectacular.” Whether your tastes are traditional or more contemporary, you'll find something that will amaze and delight you.

From traditional casino lounges and cocktail bars to the new wave of upscale “ultra lounges” there is something for everyone. Attendees can choose from a wide array of offerings including some of the most popular nightlife spots like Forty Deuce, Pure, Rain, Red Square, Studio 54, Tao, Tryst, and much more.

Shoppers Paradise

Drawing an influx of designers and upscale specialty boutiques, Las Vegas has become one of the premium world class shopping destinations in the country. Headliners such as Harry Winston, Manolo Blahnik, Juicy Couture, Jimmy Choo, and Dolce and Gabbana now populate the strip.

Las Vegas Marathon

This is the third year of the Las Vegas Marathon! It is scheduled to start at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2007 (times are subject to change). Attendees and exhibitors traveling to the Venetian Resort and Sands Expo Center on Sunday should allow for additional travel time due to street closures. If you plan to run in the marathon, the entry fee is $95 until online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. (PST) on November 20th. - $105 race week. Entry for the Half Marathon is $85 until online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. (PST) on November 25th. - $95 race week.
