About the House of Delegates

The House of Delegates (HOD) is the ultimate authority over ASHP professional policies, which express the Society’s stance on important issues related to health-system pharmacy practice and medication use in society. The HOD meets annually at the ASHP Summer Meeting, where it reviews policy proposals that have been approved by the Board of Directors; most professional policies are initially drafted by ASHP councils or the executive committees of sections and forums. ASHP members are represented in the House by delegates from states, the chairs of section and forum executive committees, fraternal delegates for the federal services, past presidents of ASHP, and members of the Board of Directors.
