The Donald E. Francke Memorial Library (DEFML) is located at the ASHP Headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland.
The DEFML is a closed collection, meaning that you must first make an appointment. Please fill out the
request form to schedule an appointment.
No, items are not to be removed. If possible, parts of the collection may be photocopied for inquirers.
Actually, all ASHP members have online access to the current and past copies of AJHP. Please visit
www.ajhp.org to obtain the needed article.

- Items should be donated as a comprehensive group whenever possible
- Items should contain a specific significance to the growth of the profession and/or the history of ASHP
- Items of interest would include speeches, notes, memorabilia, correspondences, curriculum vitae, bibliographies
- All donations and gifts become the property of ASHP.
- Only materials within the scope of the collection will be retained. Those items that do not and/or duplicates will be with be sent back to the original owner or discarded.
- All materials will be preserved as best as possible
- Please, do not send any materials to the DEFML until you have spoken to the Archivist.
