Ambulatory Review Course

The BCACP Recertification Intensive Study is a live series of activities focused on subspecialty areas and recent advances in ambulatory care pharmacy practice. Each year, intensive studies on selected topics related to one or more specific domains will be presented that focus on in‐depth subspecialty knowledge and skills. A minimum of six hours of credit will be offered for each series of courses. Participants may elect to attend all unique offerings, or select only those where they have the greatest need for additional knowledge and skills. The subspecialty areas will focus on more advanced and detailed information than what is presented in the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Review Course for Recertification. The intensive studies focus on new knowledge in health systems and patient care problems seen in ambulatory care practice and other cutting‐edge developments in the field. Speakers will develop an assessment component for each study. Each specialized topic area will be identified by the Ambulatory Care Recertification Program Committee with the assistance of specialists in the topic area. Content for each subspecialty area will be delivered by qualified experts in the field. Lectures and case study materials will be designed and organized in a consistent manner to ensure quality and enhance usefulness to the participant. During the presentations faculty members will incorporate active learning components and discuss the best answer to questions that illustrate key concepts. Instructional materials, references, and other resources are provided for further study by participants.

A minimum of 6.0 hours of recertification credit will be available for participants each year. To earn recertification credit from the BCACP Recertification Intensive Study, BCACPs must attend the live program and successfully complete the online assessment by the deadline. Only completed tests will be eligible for credit; no partial or incomplete tests will be processed.

Note: BCACPs may participate in the BCACP Recertification Intensive Study as many times as they wish throughout their 7-year certification cycle to attain the required recertification credit.
