Ohio Northern University- Rudolph H. Raabe College of Pharmacy
Graduation Year:

How and why I became interested in being appointed to the Pharmacy Student Forum Executive Committee:
As a pharmacy student in Ohio, I have been lucky enough to be friends with members of the PSFEC for the past three years. The mentorship I received from these students showed me the positive impact I could have on students across the country. At the same time, spending time on the ASHP Council of Pharmacy Management last year made me realize how much I enjoyed working with the organization the national level. It is an honor to
Professional interests:
Currently, I want to pursue a two year MS residency in pharmacy administration. I also have clinical interests in pain management and medication safety.
How being a member of ASHP has assisted in my personal and professional development:
Being a member of ASHP has been one of the best decisions I have made during my time as a pharmacy student. I have been able to network with not only students from across the country, but build friendships and gain new perspectives. I also have been able to meet residents and pharmacists who have given me advice about my future career and exposed me to pharmacy leadership. Finally, being a writer for the ASHP Blog has allowed me to voice my opinions and to connect with other pharmacy leaders around the country. I can’t imagine what my future career plans would have been without the positive influence of ASHP and its members.
Goals for the year as a PSFEC Member:
- To inspire students to realize that pharmacy leadership is a responsibility of the profession. It is the job of each and every one of us to help advance the profession by being a personal advocate of the role we can play on the healthcare team. Changing the mentality of student can help shape future generations and to achieve each of the goals mentioned in the Pharmacy Practice Model Initiative.
- To expand student usage of ASHP Connect and its features. It is a powerful tool for networking and can help students network with residency programs and health-system pharmacy leaders.
- To work towards creating a webinar series just for students. Topics could vary from journal club discussions to leadership lectures. The webinar series would help reach out to students who simply cannot afford to attend the Midyear Clinical Meeting or the Summer Meeting.
Fun fact:
I was lucky enough to sit on the floor of the US House of Representatives. Congress was not in session one time when I visited and Senator Sherrod Brown (Ohio) gave us that rare privilege. The room really is a lot smaller than it looks on television!
