School:
Harding University College of Pharmacy
Graduation Year:

How and why I became interested in being appointed to the Pharmacy Student Forum Executive Committee:
As a member of the inaugural class at Harding University College of Pharmacy, I had the unique opportunity of establishing a SSHP in our school. From working directly with ASHP and our faculty advisor, I knew that ASHP was an organization that saw the importance of engaging students into the profession. I wanted to get more involved and so I spent three months at ASHP headquarters as the summer Intern and again, I was impressed with the level of commitment ASHP had to advancing the profession of pharmacy. In continuing my involvement with ASHP, I served as a member of the Leadership Development Advisory group and I thoroughly enjoyed developing leadership resources for students. Naturally, I became interested in the opportunity to serve on the PSFEC. In this role, I hope to further develop the resources that are currently available and continue to nurture leadership and professionalism among pharmacy students.
Professional interests:
Ambulatory Care, Critical Care, Academia
How being a member of ASHP has assisted in my personal and professional development:
As a pharmacy student, I found ASHP to be a valuable resource for career and residency information. After attending an ASHP Summer Meeting in my P1 year, I realized the importance of getting involved with the profession. Since then, I have attended several ASHP Summer and Midyear Meetings and I continue to benefit from the guidance they offer in terms of leadership, mentorship, and professional development. Additionally, the many amazing pharmacists I have encountered from these meetings continue to inspire me with their unrelenting passion for the profession of pharmacy.
Goals for the year as a PSFEC Member: As a member of the PSFEC, my primary goal is to engage pharmacy students into the profession. I hope to achieve this by promoting membership, leadership, and volunteerism at the local, state, and national level. Additionally, I would like to increase awareness of important pharmacy issues, such as the Pharmacy Practice Model Initiative, and incorporate these goals into professional development projects for SSHP’s. And finally, I hope to develop more resources that better prepares students to become successful candidates for post graduate residency programs.
Fun fact:
Living in a foreign country for a year is something on my bucket list of things to do before I die. I truly believe you don’t get the full experience of a new place until you’ve lived through the good and the bad!
