Charge
- Advise on how ASHP can assist its members in their efforts to be fiscally responsible (including managing expenses and reimbursement);
- Advise on how ASHP can support its members in their efforts to develop and efficiently use workload and productivity systems;
- Serve as a resource for ASHP advocacy efforts in the areas or proposed reimbursement formulas and methods;
- Develop educational content, tools, checklists and resources to assist Pharmacy Directors in managing the business of pharmacy;
- Identify and develop meaningful metrics for measuring the operational and clinical effectiveness of pharmacy services;
- Develop tools to assist Pharmacy Directors in developing vision and strategies for new services and staff, assessing/developing ROIs, and re-organizing department structure/function to meet current and future workforce needs (keeping in mind changing demographics of pharmacy, regulatory and quality initiatives, changes in technology);
- Investigate and recommend initiatives to advance pharmacy services through staff development. Including advancing pharmacist clinical and technical skills, development of innovative technician roles, and improved Department level communication;
- Recommend to ASHP initiatives to advocate for technician certification
