President Bill Clinton, 40,000th Member Among Midyear Event Highlights

President Bill Clinton described the intersection among health, economics, and politics during his keynote address today at the opening session of the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in Las Vegas.

The opening session also featured the announcement that the Society has reached 40,000 members and awards honoring the contributions of ASHP past president and pharmacy leader Janet Silvester, former ASHP CEO Henri R. Manasse, Jr., pain management advocate June Dahl , and the late Tom Hoek, general secretary and CEO of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).

The meeting’s opening weekend featured special programming for students, new practitioners, pharmacists who practice in small and rural hospitals, and federally employed pharmacists.

The meeting continues through Thursday at the Mandalay Bay Hotel Convention Center. Check ASHP’s Facebook page and Twitter feed for meeting highlights.
