BETHESDA, MD 10 September 2012—Qualitest today announced a recall of hydrocodone–acetaminophen lot C1440512A because some of the tablets may contain more of the active ingredients than the labeling states.
The company said each tablet is supposed to contain 10 mg of hydrocodone bitartrate and 500 mg of acetaminophen, but some of the tablets in lot C1440512A may "exceed the weight specification."
The 100-tablet bottles in the lot were distributed to wholesalers and community pharmacies between May 14 and August 3, the company said.
Qualitest said pharmacists who have tablets from lot C1440512A should contact MedTurn, also known as Inmar, at 800-967-5952, for instructions on returning the product.
In addition, Qualitest said, pharmacies that received bottles of hydrocodone–acetaminophen lot C1440512A should post the press release that the company sends along with the recall notification information.
Qualitest is the generic pharmaceuticals division of Endo Health Solutions. Endo acquired Qualitest Pharmaceuticals in 2010.
