Baxter Recalls Three Lots of Parenteral Nutrient Products

BETHESDA, MD 06 Jan 2014—Baxter International Inc. has recalled two lots of Clinimix and one lot of Clinimix E sterile premixed parenteral nutrient products that were reported to contain particulates, the company announcedExternal Link on January 3.

Clinimix contains amino acids in dextrose injection, and Clinimix E contains amino acids and electrolytes in dextrose injection with calcium. Both products are packaged in two-chambered plastic containers.

The recall involves 1000-mL containers of Clinimix product code 2B7729, lot P287045, expiration date June 2014; 2000-mL containers of Clinimix product code 2B7709, lot P285122, expiration date May 2014; and 2000-mL containers of Clinimix E product code 2B7717, lot P275883, expiration date October 2013.

According to the company, the recalled lots were distributed to customers between May of 2012 and October of 2013.

Baxter asked its customers to locate and stop using the recalled lots. To arrange for product return and credit or replacement, contact the Baxter Healthcare Center for Service at 888-229-0001, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m., Central Time.
