ASHP's Section Advisory Groups (SAG) offer you the best way to participate with ASHP and colleagues who share the same interests.

The appointment process opens every year in November.  Please check back for more information about volunteering.

SAG on Clinical Leadership

Charge

  • Advise ASHP regarding opportunities to enhance the development of leadership skills among clinical specialists and scientists
  • Identify and develop tools, programs, and resources to enhance clinical leadership skills development and applications for current and future health system practice
  • Develop an education session for the Midyear meeting based on the work of the Section’s Educational Steering Committee or Section educational needs
  • Identify projects/ resources within ASHP and the Center for Health-System Pharmacy Leadership that will help the individual grow as a leader

SAG on Emerging Sciences

Charge

  • Assess emerging policy issues related to the emerging sciences and advise the Executive Committee on opportunities where ASHP should be involved
  • Identify and develop tools and resources to assist members in the emerging sciences
  • Review and update the Emerging Sciences Resource Center twice a year
  • Develop an education session for the Midyear meeting based on the work of the Section’s Educational Steering Committee or Section educational needs
  • Assist in developing journal content around the emerging sciences

SAG on Emergency Medicine

Charge

  • Assess current ASHP programs, tools, and resources related to emergency care and determine member needs related to this specialty.
  • Identify and develop future programs/resources that enhance the ability of members to meet patient needs
  • Encourage and determine the extent of pharmacist integration into health-care teams that provide patient care services in the emergency department setting
  • Identify opportunities for departments of pharmacy at hospitals and health-systems in ensuring safe and effective use of medications in emergency departments
  • Develop an education session for the Midyear meeting based on the work of the Section’s Educational Steering Committee or Section educational needs
  • Review and update the Emergency Care Resource Center web content twice a year.
