Reason for the Shortage

    • Akorn had Sufenta injection on shortage due to increased demand for the product.
    • Hikma stopped marketing sufentanil injection in October 2018.
    • Pfizer has sufentanil injection on shortage due to manufacturing delays.

Estimated Resupply Dates

    • Pfizer has sufentanil 0.5 mg/mL 2 mL and 5 mL vials on back order and the company estimates a release date of October 2020 for the 2 mL vials and November 2020 for the 5 mL vials.
