Estimated Resupply Dates

    • All marketed presentations are available.

Safety

    • During this shortage, use oral therapy whenever possible to reserve remaining IV supplies. Compounding potassium-containing products poses significant safety risks. Consider oral therapy for patients with enteral or oral access and patients with potassium concentrations higher than 2.8 mmol/L.

Alternative Agents & Management

    • To help alleviate the potassium chloride shortage, Athenex is coordinating with FDA to temporarily import potassium chloride 2 mEq/mL concentrate for injection 10 mL ampules in 10 count. This is manufactured and marketed in Italy by Industria Farmaceutica Galenica Senese S.r.l. (Galenica).
