Reason for the Shortage

    • American Regent is not currently marketing sodium acetate injection.
    • Fresenius Kabi has sodium acetate injection on back order due to increased demand.
    • Pfizer has sodium acetate injection on shortage due to manufacturing delays.

    • There is insufficient supply for usual ordering

Estimated Resupply Dates

    • Fresenius Kabi has sodium acetate 4 mEq/mL 100 mL vials on back order and the company estimates a release date of early- to mid-September 2019.
    • Pfizer has sodium acetate 2 mEq/mL 20 mL vials available in limited supply. The 100 mL vials are on back order and the company estimates a release date of September 2019. The 50 mL vials are on back order and the company estimates a release date of September 2019.
